Local Bands IzaJane and Heavy Horses Live on the Common Starting at 5 pm this Thursday Night

Movies on the Common is more than just free outdoor movies - this Thursday, July 19, 2012 we have two bands playing free starting at 5 pm prior to the start of JAWS at dusk.

[ JAWS POSTER ]
IzaJane and the Greatwood Acoustics will get things started. Here's a little bit about IzaJane:

Hailing from the foothills of Worcester county, Massachusetts, IzaJane has slowly been making a name for themselves. Revelling in contemporary folk/bluegrass/country and blues originals, they'll also put their own twist to covers anywhere from Townes Van Zandt to Bob Dylan to the Stones. IzaJane will get your foot stomping and your heart throbbing again and again. Unlike any other of their genre in the area, IzaJane is a unique tribute to central Massachusetts. With Dan's unique slide guitar style, Matts' unmistakable bass lines, Nicks rolling Banjo and Sarah's classic vocals, this is a band you don't want to miss! Keep your eyes and ears open, for when they visit your area- you wont be disappointed : )

IzaJane
Heavy Horses follows, check out this story from Worcester Magazine to learn more about them!

Why not make plans to meet up with your friends and/or family on the Common after work? Stop by your favorite Worcester take out joint and pick up a picnic to bring to the Common, or, better yet, order from the Theatre Cafe's menu (available on the Common) and they will deliver it to you at your blanket at no charge!

And yes, Movies on the Common is kid friendly - the movie itself and the late start make JAWS iffy for kids other than perhaps teens (don't worry - it will be dark by 8:30 pm in August and we are showing the Princess Bride!); however, all music is family friendly, Sweet Sister Ice Cream will be on hand and Worcester Film Works will once again be providing fresh popped popcorn! Rumor has it a few frisbees made an appearance at the show last month.....

We'll see you on the Common this Thursday....
