Tonight's Showing of The Big Lebowski is Rated R

A friendly reminder that tonight's show, The Big Lebowski, is rated R for pervasive strong language, drug content, sexuality and brief violence. We strongly recommend you keep the kids at home for this one. If you have a teenager and are trying to figure out whether they should attend, we recommend you check out Common Sense Media's review, which they sum up as "a wild ride for adults only."

  1. This is a wonderful idea for Worcester, showing quality movies on the Common for free. The problem is, this excludes those residents in Worcester who can least afford to go to the movies. This seems contradictory, but the fact remains that an overwhelming number of Worcester's poor; families and individuals, rely on the WRTA to get to the Downtown area. There is no difficulty getting to a 6:30 p.m. movie on the bus, but it is impossible to return home from the same movie by bus. Most routes in Worcester end weekday service between 8 and 9 p.m., making it an impossibility for those to whom a movie would be a cost-prohibitive to attend. As your organizers walk among'st the crowd this evening, please take notice of the makeup of your audience. My guess: overwhelmingly white with an inordinate number of L.L. Bean baby strollers parked on the grass.Your intentions are good, however.
